Terence Wood is a Fellow at the Development Policy Centre. He undertakes research on Australian and New Zealand aid (particularly the domestic political economy of aid). He also undertakes research on Melanesian politics. Terence’s PhD research focused on studying voter behaviour in the Solomon Islands. Prior to commencing PhD study Terence worked for the New Zealand government aid program.

COVID-19 expertise

I do not work directly on COVID-19. However, I do study international development in the Pacific and have relevant knowledge on what the epidemic may mean for development in Pacific island countries. I also study Australian aid. I cannot comment directly on the aid-funded COVID-19 response but can speak to the challenges the aid program faces more generally.
