Influencing policy on disability employment – final report published

During October and November 2010 Ann Nevile and Janine O’Flynn visited 27 disability employment providers and spoke with 137 staff and 73 job seekers to find out how current policy implementation impacts on service delivery and how job seekers are affected.  The research was supported by an ARC Linkage Project with partners ACE, Jobs Australia and The Brotherhood of St Laurence.  A summary of key findings has already been given to Linkage Partners to inform their discussions with government.  The research has also been used as the basis for a submission to the DEEWR Employment Services 2012 Consultation.  It emphasises the need to allow flexible service provision to meet individual needs and capabilities within a sustainable compliance framework.
