The Arndt-Corden Department of Economics is devoted to full-time research by tenured and non-tenured members of staff and PhD students. It is part of the Crawford School of Economics and Government in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific. Professor Raghbendra Jha is the Head of Department.
The Department is mainly concerned with the theoretical and applied problems of economic development, international economics and macroeconomics, with special reference to the countries of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Southwest Pacific.
Within the broad context of economic development, its interests include:
